Igor Basin alias BIGor is an
indefatigable activist and annalist of Slovenian punk. Born in 1969,
he was too young to be part of the early Slovenian punk movement in
the late seventies. But in 1984, after watching a concert of the Canadian
band D.O.A. he converted to punk and became a committed activist.
It all started when BiGor first became an active member at the CRMK,
a youth club in his home town. He worked as a DJ, bartender and concert
organizer.
At the CRMK he met many Yugoslavian post punk bands, but also foreign
bands like The Ex, Membranes, Disorder, Eugene
Chadbourne and Fred Frith. Today through his job as a culture
editor at Radio Student Ljubljana and of various fanzines and
magazines, he is constantly following and documenting the Slovenian
punk scene.
At the Punk! Kongress BIGor will talk about the vital and creative
punk scene in Former Yugoslavia and show some rare and unknown video
material. more... |
